Pilot Examinations


As an FAA Designated Pilot Examiner and Pilot Proficiency Examiner, I can conduct checkrides for the following: Private Pilot, Instrument Rating, Commercial Pilot, Airline Transport Pilot, Multi-engine ratings, flight instructor initial and add-on ratings and renewals. I can also conduct checkrides in the Dassault Falcon 2000.

Mock Oral Examinations


Unfortunately, I can only give check-rides to a fraction of the requests I receive. Due to my travel as a corporate pilot and the need to focus on relieving the backlog of check-rides in my appointed region, there are many aviators (especially outside my Sacramento region) I am not able to assist. I am passionate about being part of and witnessing the success of every pilot I can. I truly believe an applicant’s success is as desired to them as it is to me. I am now offering mock oral exams for any checkride. I will conduct these mock orals / lessons via zoom while I am on the road. My goal is to be of service to those I can not conduct check rides for.

Doing a mock oral with a DPE can be invaluable. The demonstration of knowledge in a scenario based flow with someone experienced in identifying strengths and weakness has many benefits. You will have the opportunity to practice navigating challenging moments in a check-ride environment, identify weak areas of knowledge allowing you to optimize your study time, and get feedback regarding if your knowledge is at the correlative level, allowing you to enter your actual check-ride with more confidence and familiarity.

How will this work?

  • Select a time and book the mock oral here. A 90 minute session is $225.

  • Add additional time or students as needed.

  • Utilize the time for a complete oral exam, or for coaching/motivation as needed.

  • I will email you complete notes on our session including areas you should focus for your studying.

  • Please know that once we have a session together, I can not conduct a check-ride for you for the certificate or rating in which I assisted you on.

  • Sessions may not be recorded.
